Here are some specifics on this years Raffle, which plays a big part in our fund-raising efforts. We are offering raffle tickets for the biggest prize list ever in a “no-contact” way. Please read on.

Prizes include a $5799.00 John Deere zero turn mower, Z540R. The warranty will not start until you win it in the drawing to be held in late May. Even if you don't need one, read on. Or win it and it will be an easy sell.

Plus the prizes of $500, $400, $300, $200 cash and a 50 inch flat panel TV. The tickets for the raffle cost $10 each, or 3 for $20.

You can buy one or more by sending a check to any of the following Lion members. We'll photograph the appropriate number of filled-out ticket stubs and text or email the image to you as digital evidence of your ticket purchase. The actual stubs will be handled as always, placed securely into our mixer cage to be manually drawn by a random non-Lion member individual, on May 25th at 6:00pm, in full compliance with state raffle rules. Winners will be notified immediately after the drawing. Just so you know this drawing has to take place per the State of Michigan Raffle rules, regardless of the coronavirus. Please allow postage time for your checks to arrive prior to the drawing otherwise the stubs will not be placed into the drawing cage.

You do not have to be present to win, and we will, as required by law, find you. To get your tickets send me a check, your e-mail address, and your phone number to which I will email or text you the image of your tickets after the check clears. Checks should be written to “Laingsburg Lions Club” with “raffle tickets” in the memo line.

We know some of you might not live close to Laingsburg, but you understand the kinds of charitable things all Lions Clubs do, world wide. If you want to help this club, please consider buying tickets right now. I, the master procrastinator, know how easy it is to put something aside, with full intentions to deal with it, and then forget until it's too late. Please, if you are considering helping the club, do it now.

So that you know, the Laingsburg Lions Club has done, and will continue to do, great projects not only for the Laingsburg Community, but for State and International Lions Projects. Recent local projects include the Bates Park basketball court, providing the Laingsburg Public Library support for digital books (more important than ever!), Laingsburg High School Red Thunder robotics program, the Laingsburg Community Choir's Carnegie Hall concert, two gaga pits, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Lions Childhood Cancer, the Lions Bear Lake Camp (for blind and hearing impaired children , located in central Michigan) and many more. We are averaging about $20,000 per year of charitable donations. Our current plans are for another gaga pit for the elementary school and replacement of the concrete at the front pavilion in Bates Park.

We hope to hear from you soon, and we wish that you and your family stay healthy and virus free.

Thank YOU!

Your Laingsburg Lions Club
