41st Annual Laingsburg Lions Club Springtime Festival!

The Laingsburg Lions Club will hold our Springtime Festival over Memorial Day weekend, May 23-27th, 2024 in downtown Laingsburg, Mi.   Arnold Amusements will provide rides, games of chance, and of course your favorite carnival foods like Elephant Ears and Corn Dogs. Arnold Amusements plays an important role in our Annual Festival which allows the Lions club to raise money for various projects that benefit our town of Laingsburg.

In the past the Laingsburg Lions Famous Chicken Dinner was held immediately following the parade. It is now held prior to the Sprintime Festival now.

This year it is being held on MAY 11th. Chicken Dinners pickup location is at the ECEC School (old middle school) on Grand River.

It is a preorder / drive-thru pickup style of Chicken Dinner. You can place your orders in advance by calling (517) 525-4598.

Details will be given when you call to place your order.

The official opening begins Thursday night, May 23rd at 5:00PM with games, carnival rides, and lots of great food! Bracelet rides had to be raised a bit this year. But still remains at $25 for rides all day long on Thursday and Monday. However, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the cost will be $30 for rides all day long.

Introduction of the King and Queen and Parade Marshall will take place at the McClintock Park Amphitheater starting at 6:15pm.

Lion President, Mike Foster, will introduce our Festival King and Queen winners, along with this years Parade Marshall - Jim Norris.

Bekah Allen is our Lions Club Parade Chairwoman this year and can be reached at 517-927-2193 for information.

Theme of this years parade is "Farmer Ed". Parade participants will start lining up along Woodbury Rd at 10:00am with a parade starting time of 11:00am promptly, rain or shine. Many applications have already been sent out to past participants. Please register in advance as it makes the task of parade layout and planning much easier.

The Laingsburg Fire, Rescue, Ambulance vehicles will lead off the parade followed by the American Legion Honor Guard, Parade Marshall - Jim Norris and Dignitaries.

And if you didn't or were late in submitting your parade application, you can still participate, please come to the parade headquarters table at the east side entrance of the Baptist Church.

But again, please try to register with Bekah prior to Parade Day.

The Bicycle Contest is being held again this year. Those participating in the bicycle contest can decorate their bike with the hopes of winning cash prizes. 1st place - $75. 2nd place - $50. 3rd place - $25. Judging will take into consideration the theme of this years parade - "Farmer Ed". Judging will begin at 10:15am-10:30am at the east side / rear of the Baptist Church parking lot. Ice cream will be offered to all bicycle participants after the parade.

It appears that the Arts and Craft show will be the largest ever with upwards of 40-45 booths. Craft show exhibit area is located in front of the Post Office and west of the Dentist office and runs from Friday, 2:00pm - 6:00pm, and Saturday / Sunday - 12:00 noon - 6:00pm.

Springtime Festival occurs during Memorial Day weekend! Post 248 American Legion holds a breakfast at the Legion on Sunday morning, 8:00am - 11:00am. Memorial Service will be held at the cemetary 11:00am - 12:00 noon.

What is Memorial Day?

Memorial Day is considered a federal holiday in the United States, in which we honor and mourn members of the military who have passed away while serving in the United States Armed Forces. On this day, we pay tribute to those who gave their lives while protecting and serving their nation. Thank a Veteran for their Service.

Of course you can't have a Spring Time Festival without a raffle drawing.
8 prizes will be given: 1st Place - a Custom golf cart, 2nd - BBQ Grill from Leonards Hardware, 3rd - $500 Grocery Shopping Spree, 4th - $500 cash, 5th - E-bike, 6th - Xbox Series X, 7th - $200, 8th - $100.

RAFFLE TICKETS --  can be purchased $10 each or 3 for $20.
DRAWING to be held Monday May 27th, 2024 at 3:00PM at the McClintock Park Amphitheater.


Purchase your raffle tickets from any Laingsburg Lion member from now up until 15 minutes before the drawing. Lion members will be walking the midway and manning the Craft show ticket booth Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Tickets can also be purchased at Leonard Hardware, Twilligers, Sage Market, and at the Meridian Weekly in Ovid.

The money that the Laingsburg Lions Club raises from the festival, amounts to approximately $10K annually for the various programs / projects that are used to support the community. The festival is our Lions Club major fundraiser; please come down and help support our great community.

Conclusion of the festival is declared when the raffle drawing is held Monday afternoon at 3:00pm.

A Super Parade chaired by Lion Bekah Allen

The LSW Fire and Rescue vehicles will start the parade, followed by the VFW color guard, Parade Marshall, and dignitaries. Parade entrants will then follow. There have been as many as 80 entries in past parades.
